US Lacrosse and the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) are partners in a nationwide endeavor to make lacrosse a positive, character-building experience for every athlete and to make the experience a more successful one for coaches, parents, fans and officials.

US Lacrosse and PCA share the following vision: To equip all coaches with the training and tools needed to become "Double-Goal Coaches"™, where goal #1 is striving to win; and goal #2, the more important one, is teaching life lessons via lacrosse. We are working in partnership to make the youth sports culture one in which every member of our lacrosse
community ‘Honors the Game’.

The US Lacrosse-PCA Partnership helps us create the quality lacrosse programs we all desire, and provides our athletes with a positive learning experience, while also giving leaders, coaches and parents the tools and training needed to play an active role in "Honoring the Game".

What is the Positive Coaching Alliance?

Founded in 1998, Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is committed to providing all youth and high school athletes a positive, character-building youth sports experience. To that end, PCA has conducted more than 10,000 live group workshops nationwide for more than 475,000 youth and high school sports coaches, parents, student-athletes and school/organizational leaders. Through workshops and online courses, PCA has impacted more than 4 million youth. PCA’s partnership network includes more than 1,700 youth sports organizations, cities and schools.

Why is this partnership important for you?

1. It provides Sportsmanship Matching Grant opportunities for lacrosse leagues and chapters to partner with Positive Coaching Alliance.

2. The PCA Double Goal Coach 1 course - Coaching for Winning and Life Lessons – is a current requirement of the US Lacrosse's Level 1 Coaching certification.
